Nasa has released an incredibly beautiful close-up shot of Messier 5 (M5), an ancient cluster of over 100,000 stars captured by the Hubble Space Telescope which has been fascinating astronomers for the last 400 years.  Estimated to be about 13 billion years old, M5 is believed to be one of the oldest globular star clusters in existence. In the 18th century, astronomer Charles Messier thought that M5 was a nebula, which is a cloud of space dust and gas. Detectives investigating the murder of Melanie Hall want to speak to a motorist who they believe may have vital information. Miss Hall, who worked at Royal United Hospital in Bath, went missing 17 years ago and her body was found dumped by the side of the M5 near Bristol in 2009. Samsung is to further set its sights on Sonos with a new addition to its Shape wireless audio multiroom system, which will be unveiled in the flesh on its stand at CES 2014 in Las Vegas next week. The Samsung Shape M5 is smaller than the previously announced M7 and goes sort-of head-to-head with the Sonos Play:1 in providing streamed audio in more confined spaces. Millions of festive travellers are being warned to expect delays on the roads and railways with strong winds and heavy rain expected across Britain today. The Met Office has issued a severe weather warning for the day, and motorists are being told to brace themselves for problems - particularly those heading to the southwest of England and parts of Scotland. The Cumbrian Coast Line between Carlisle and Barrow is already shut due to a landslide, while flooding has closed part of the line in Crowborough. The Highways Agency, in conjunction with the Met Office, is advising drivers of high-sided or other vehicles vulnerable to high winds to avoid several roads including the M4 from junctions 22 to 23 and the M5 from junctions 18 to 19. A fireworks organiser in charge of a display on the night of a motorway pile-up in which seven people died has spoken of his relief after being cleared of breaching health and safety laws. Geoffrey Counsell, 51, said he believed the decision to prosecute him was "motivated by a desire to find someone to blame for this terrible accident, simply for the sake of doing so". Speaking outside Bristol Crown Court, Mr Counsell expressed his sympathy to all those affected by the "terrible crash" on the M5 on November 4, 2011. Motorists and passengers involved in a fatal motorway pile-up have described to a jury being enveloped by blackness "like a blanket", before a series of collisions likened to being in a "pinball machine". Collisions began just six minutes after the ?3,000 display, organised by 51-year-old Geoffrey Counsell, which involved 1,500 fireworks exploding in 15 minutes. A man has been arrested on suspicion of the murder of Melanie Hall, who went missing 17 years ago. The 44-year-old was held at his home in Bath last week as part of the investigation into the death of the 25-year-old clerical worker, whose body was found dumped by the side of the M5 near Bristol in 2009. A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police said the man had been released on bail until December 19. Miss Hall's parents Steve and Pat have been informed and kept up to date with the developments.
