“What is the difference between the Advocate 70 CS vs. the Britax Advocate 70 G3?”
If you’re wondering about what are the new features coming with the Britax Advocate 70 G3 convertible car seat, here’s your answer:
What are the key differences?
- The first new feature coming with G3 is the EZ-Buckle System. Its duty is to solve a very simple but common problem with car seats. The new buckle system is designed to prevent you child from sitting on the buckle. The EZ-Buckle System will cause the harness to flip forward when your child gets out of the car seat, so you will not have to search for it the next time.
- The next improvement is the HUGS Chest Pads with SafeCell Technology. The new pads are now thicker than previous versions to absorb more energy in case
of a collision. One disadvantage here is that these new HUGS pads are tethered to the shell which makes it a little harder to loosen the straps by grabbing the HUGS pads than previous version. With the new design the only way is to use your fingers.
- Another one is the new Versa-Tether, it comes with built-in energy absorbing feature which will reduce the forces on a child in a crash a little better than old tether system in Britax Advocate 70 CS.
These are the important differences in our comparison of Britax Advocate 70 CS vs G3. There also a few other changes we see, like some color changes on the body and straps of the seat which are not important in terms of usage or safety.
We can say that both of them are great convertible car seats, Advocate G3 has some new features and is about $30 cheaper than the Britax Advocate 70 CS, so we think it is best to go with Britax Advocate 70 G3. See current prices here.
