Evan N. Zeppos, APR, has more than three decades of professional achievement and experience as a public relations counselor. With experience in both the private and public sectors, he is recognized as a leading expert in public relations and has a unique blend of national, state and local involvement on major issues management and public relations challenges and opportunities. A Milwaukee Magazine survey of local public relations professionals ranked Zeppos as the top communications professional in the metropolitan Milwaukee area. He has also earned national accreditation from the Public Relations Society of America and is a member of its Counselors Academy.

Zeppos is often consulted on major public relations matters because of his recognized leadership in the field. Previous and current assignments include providing issues management, public relations and government affairs assistance to Wisconsin's largest telecommunications and gas companies; a major brewer; several large, privately owned, Wisconsin-based international companies; the world's largest convenience store operator; several public entities; and various other private and public business organizations. Additionally, his expertise in media relations and crisis management has brought him challenging assignments that range from product recalls and train derailments to workplace deaths, legal actions and construction accidents.

He has been a public affairs analyst on both national and local television and radio news programs, and he has appeared on CNN, "TODAY," C-SPAN and other state and local broadcasts as a public relations strategy expert. He has been a regular guest panelist on the Milwaukee area's top-rated public affairs television talk show.

He founded Zeppos & Associates, Incorporated in 1994, after starting another public relations and government affairs firm in 1985. He also had served as the

vice president of a small public relations firm and as an account executive at a consumer affairs firm. His public sector work includes service as Wisconsin's Deputy Commissioner of Banking; Chief of Staff and Administrative Assistant to Congressman Gerald D. Kleczka; Communications Director for Congressman David R. Obey; and Deputy Press Secretary to Wisconsin Governors Patrick J. Lucey and Martin J. Schreiber. Zeppos also served as Communications Director for the Leadership of the U.S. House of Representatives.

He has served on various community and government panels and boards, and he was appointed twice to the Wisconsin Elections Board, including one term as chairman. He formerly served as president, vice president and treasurer of the Wisconsin Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America. He was the first chairman of the City of Milwaukee's Festival Funding Board and was on the Board of Citizens for a Better Environment. He also has served on the Board of Governors of the Milwaukee Press Club and was the group's secretary and a member of its Program Committee. Zeppos is a member of Milwaukee's Downtown Rotary, the American Hellenic Institute, the Milwaukee Press Club and AHEPA, a Greek fraternal organization. He has been a volunteer adviser to various local community, cultural and non-profit groups in the areas of publicity, crisis management, constituent group development and other public and government relations areas.
